Exporting your expenses claims

How to export details of your expenses claims for further analysis.

Last updated on 10 Sept, 2026

The reporting built-in to claimexpenses.com is designed to provide the summary information that people find most useful. For more detailed analysis, you can export your data in spreadsheet format.

Claim exports are designed for detailed reporting and analysis.

We don't recommend trying to mirror all the details of your claims in another system - instead it is usually better to treat claimexpenses.com as your source of truth and just enter summaries of claims into your book-keeping / accounting systems.

To generate a claim export, go to "Export claims" on your "Claims" menu. This will only be available for users with Finance administrator permissions.

You can filter the export to any date range. Note that the dates are based on the date the claim was submitted, not the dates of the individual items. Journeys and other expenses that fell within your date range will not be included in the export if they are part of a claim that was submitted before, or after, your selected dates.

Exports will download in CSV format, ready to open in Excel or other spreadsheet or data analysis tools. They include the travel data (locations, vehicle and fuel types, and carbon emissions) as well as the financial data.
